On 6, 7 and 8 May, Granada hosted the IFMIF-DONES ICTS Consortium Management Conference. This gathering focused on the exchange of knowledge, experiences and management models among major scientific and technical infrastructures across Spain. From Movviendo Tourism Group we had the privilege of participating as the official DMC for the event. Therefore, our team provided full logistical support and operational coordination throughout the experience. Furthermore, the conference took place within the framework of the IFMIF-DONES project, which is one of the most significant scientific and technological initiatives in Europe. The facility, located in Escúzar (Granada), will play a key role in fusion energy research. Additionally, it will support the development of materials needed for future nuclear fusion reactors. Consequently, this gathering further consolidates Granada as a strategic destination for congresses, scientific meetings and knowledge-driven events.
Regarding the operational support, throughout the conference, the Movviendo Tourism Group team coordinated a range of essential services. This was done to ensure the smooth running of the event and deliver a seamless experience for all attendees. Specifically, the services managed included:
Coordination of transport and logistics of movements
Attendee welcome and reception
Production of corporate materials and accreditations
Design of graphic assets and support materials
Catering and coffee break organisation
Coordination of visits and excursions
Operational support throughout all sessions
Our goal was to take care of every detail, both from an organisational standpoint and from the perspective of the participant experience.
In addition, the programme combined technical and institutional sessions with activities focused on networking and the discovery of the local environment. For instance, one of the highlights was the visit to the IFMIF-DONES facilities in Escúzar. There, attendees gained first-hand insight into the progress of this strategic project for international research. Moreover, the agenda also included a cultural visit to the Alhambra, one of Spain’s most emblematic heritage sites. This monument acts as a symbol of the connection between history, culture and innovation that defines Granada.
To conclude, IFMIF-DONES represents a world-class scientific infrastructure for Europe. It places Granada and Andalusia firmly on the international map of technological innovation and advanced research. For Movviendo Tourism Group it has been a privilege to be part of such a significant event. We take pride in supporting the institutions, professionals and organisations driving projects with global impact. Finally, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to the organising team and to IFMIF-DONES for their trust in our team. We also thank everyone whose dedication made these sessions a success. We remain committed to delivering professional event experiences where coordination, attention to detail and the human element make all the difference.
